The ASAT Association (Association for the Support of Rural Agriculture) initially started as an informal group of consumers together with a local producer, by piloting a community-supported agriculture partnership in 2008. The basis for the development of ASAT partnerships is the ASAT Charter, partly inspired by the principles of community-supported agriculture practiced in France. ASAT was subsequently established in 2014 as a legal entity in the form of an NGO based on a simple and straightforward set of objectives.
ASAT’s mission is to act in the field of supporting small-scale agriculture and to contribute to the development of a socially, environmentally and economically sustainable agriculture.
ASAT Objectives:
Development, promotion and monitoring at national level of ASAT solidarity partnerships, developed in support of small agricultural producers, in compliance with the principles of the ASAT Charter
Promoting environmental protection through the development of sustainable practices of proximity agriculture.
Promoting responsible behavior and sustainable purchases among urban consumers.
The ASAT Association functions as a resource and support center for people interested in promoting and implementing ASAT solidarity partnerships.
